WE are looking for a Project Accountant -
This position encompasses two main areas of responsibility: approximately 50% of the role involves Project Accounting for the company's foreign operations, while the remaining 50% entails supporting the Division Controller in overseeing administrative, financial, and accounting functions for both domestic and overseas operations. This includes active involvement in developing long and short-range plans for the division, as well as reporting to the Corporate Treasury Group and Division stakeholders.
Typical Job Functions:
- Conduct Project Accounting for domestic and overseas operations, including tasks such as budget management, monthly contract summaries, liaising with foreign tax experts, managing time tracking for Canadian employees, processing reimbursements, handling vendor and subcontractor payments, managing manual checks and wire transfers, estimating costs for jobs involving foreign currency, and monthly billing.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager, Project Manager, Project Controller, and Division Controller to review job budgets before setting them up in the job cost system.
- Set up new jobs, cost codes, and budgets, and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for Operations and/or Estimating as needed.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash reports, including cash requirements, reconciliation of cash received/spent versus forecasted/requested, and long-term cash flow analysis.
- Manage weekly check runs and submit invoices for processing to Corporate.
- Reconcile and maintain Petty Cash accounts and other accounts as necessary.
- Prepare financial statements specific to states/countries and manage tax filings with assistance from local tax experts.
- Assist the Division Controller in developing long and short-range business plans.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budget forecasts and quarterly revised forecasts in line with Corporate guidelines.
- Support internal and external auditors during audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Controller or Senior Management.
Qualified Candidates Possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (with an accounting concentration).
- Minimum of 2+ years of construction experience (international experience preferred) or in a Public Accounting company.
- Strong leadership and business judgment skills.
- Above-average analytical skills with a logical, innovative, accurate, and documented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with cost-type construction contracts and government audits preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards, and proficient in MS Office.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance.
- Onsite role located in Framingham, MA.
This position pays up to $85,000 a year.
