Our Client is looking to fill an Earthwork EstimatorÂ
- Evaluate proposal specifications and drawings thoroughly to ascertain the scope of work and necessary contents for estimation.
- Conduct site visits and participate in Pre-Bid/Bid Openings as required.
- Estimate production time, crew sizes, and the materials and equipment needed to complete each estimate accurately.
- Prepare detailed take-offs for Earthwork, Highway, and Utility components based on the analysis of project scope.
- Recognize and assess project risks associated with each estimate.
- Reach out to material vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes for each project under consideration.
- Compare and summarize quotes received from vendors and subcontractors effectively.
- Utilize post-bid pricing and historical job costing data to evaluate prevailing market conditions and refine estimates accordingly.
- Regularly update Material and Vendor Codebooks to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in estimating heavy civil/site projects (earthwork & utilities) for both public and private sectors.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency or familiarity with software programs including HCSS Estimate, Agtek, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite, P6 Primavera, Trimble Business Center, and Sharefile.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
