Job Title: Assistant Superintendent
Location: Revere, MA
Reports to: Project Superintendent and General Superintendent

Position Overview:
The Assistant Superintendent will work as part of a project team under the direction of the Project Superintendent and General Superintendent, supporting the coordination and supervision of high-density residential and mixed-use construction projects. This role will be responsible for overseeing specific trades and phases of work performed by hired subcontractors, ensuring that all construction activities meet the company’s quality standards and project timelines.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the activities of punch carpenters and laborers, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with project building officials and inspectors, assisting in the scheduling of jurisdictional inspections and required testing.
  • Identify potential project risks such as safety issues, subcontractor performance, site conditions, logistics, and schedule conflicts, and make recommendations to the Project Superintendent.
  • Oversee the work of assigned subcontractors and ensure their performance aligns with project goals and quality standards.
  • Notify the Project Superintendent of any non-performing subcontractors to ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare punch lists and oversee the completion of related tasks prior to inspections and project acceptance.
  • Conduct inspections of subcontractor work to confirm compliance with contract requirements and company quality expectations.
  • Assist in resolving any document conflicts or change orders related to the project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Superintendent and General Superintendent.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in multifamily construction or a similar field is required.

Skills and Specialized Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel is required. Knowledge of Procore and Textura is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment including telephone, fax machine, printer, scanner, and copier.
  • Strong understanding of construction procedures, building codes, and rough trade work.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes related to Handicap, Fair Housing, ANSI, waterproofing, environmental concerns, AQI, and acoustical standards.
